Smoked Maple Bacon Brisket

Ingredients:

- 1 (4-5 pound) beef brisket

- 1 pound of bacon

- ¼ cup of maple syrup

- 2 tablespoons of paprika

- 2 tablespoons of garlic powder

- 2 tablespoons of onion powder

- 1 tablespoon of smoked sea salt

- 1 tablespoon of black pepper

- 1 cup of applewood chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F.

2. In a small bowl, mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked sea salt, and black pepper to create a rub for the brisket.

3. Rub the brisket with the spice mixture and let it sit at room temperature for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

4. Lay strips of bacon all over the top of the brisket and lightly press into the meat.

5. In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup and water. Brush the mixture over the bacon on top of the brisket.

6. When the smoker has reached the desired temperature, place the brisket on the smoking rack.

7. Put the applewood chips into the smoker’s smokebox and close the lid.

8. Smoke the brisket for 8 hours or until the internal meat temperature reaches 195°F.

9. Remove the brisket from the smoker and allow it to rest for 20-30 minutes before slicing.

10. Serve and enjoy!
